Supporting Scripps Medical Foundation (SMF), the Quality Analyst provides SMF-wide decision support analysis of clinical, operational, outcome and performance information under the direction and in collaboration with the Senior Quality Analyst and Manager Systems and Support. Acts as a resource to operational leaders, gathering appropriate data from a variety of sources and performing data analysis with focus on data and analytical analysis integrity. Responsible for providing feedback to help in the design, implementation and maintenance of data queries from which analysis can be performed. Ensures required metrics and performance monitoring tools are available as needed. Quality Analyst will provide data related training to physicians, department managers and other decision support customers when needed.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • BS in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting Healthcare Management, Economics, Computer Science or other related field.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a clinical or financial analyst with a focus on outcomes analysis, clinical decision support and descriptive statistics.
  • Mandatory experience in healthcare of at least 1 year.
  • Demonstrated highly developed analytic capability to understand clinical and financial activities and the continuum of care.
  • Knowledge and proven ability in statistical concepts.
  • Solid understanding and experience with decision support systems.
  • Excellent organizational, communication (written and oral) and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet established deadlines.
  • Experience in working collaboratively with teams and individuals.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Access. Expert in Excel. Desired proficiency in SAP Business Objects and/or SQL.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Duties involve a variety of complex projects and assignments that are handled simultaneously.
  • Each has its own schedule, demand, deadlines, audience and stakeholders often involving interaction and teamwork with a variety of  various skills and knowledge level.
