Psychiatric Liaison Nurse (RN) – Scripps Mercy Hospital, San Diego

With our commitment to quality patient care, we invite you to join our Psychiatric Liaison Nursing team performing psychiatric evaluations of patients throughout the Scripps Health Care system. You will support patient care staff with the nursing care of patients with behavioral problems and/or patients experiencing problems related to their medical illnesses. These clinicians provide diagnostic impressions, including differentiating between medical and psychiatric disorders and determining suicidality, homicidally or grave disability. Triage behavioral health patients to the level of care that will ensure appropriate utilization of resources. Responsible for identifying and developing approaches to enhance behavioral health care of all persons throughout the system.

This is a Part-time (24 hours week) non-benefited, 12hour Varied shift position.

Job Requirements

• Three (3) years of recent RN experience in a Psychiatric Acute or Emergency Services setting within a hospital environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills and able to demonstrate positive behaviors.
Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required
BLS from the American Heart Association

• Five years’ experience
• MSN, Advanced Practice RN, CNS/NP in Psych Mental Health
• Leadership experience in coaching and mentoring
