Come support our Business Services Team as a Professional Billing Accounts Receivable (AR) Revenue Cycle Analyst.  In this position, the candidate will be responsible for analysis of accounts receivable and denial trending for Professional Billing.
 
As the Professional Billing Accounts Receivable (AR) Revenue Cycle Analyst you will be focused on root cause identification and process improvement specific to AR and denials. In your role, you will review and investigate errors, determine root causes, develop solutions and work with staff/departments across the enterprise to implement solutions. You will have a direct impact on maximizing collections and reducing inflow of denials. You are responsible for conducting analysis on a variety of accounts and reports, works to prioritize recommendations based on fiscal and volume impact. In your role you will work/research accounts, errors as assigned utilizing internal and external resources. Provide workflow design, statistical analysis, quality reviews and audits. As well as make recommendations for payor policy changes based on results. The ideal candidate will possess high organizational skills and can be successful at pushing initiatives forward with little supervision or guidance.  He/she will also have the ability to think “outside the box” to assist the manager and director of the unit in determining root causes to resolve any issues.
 
This is a Full Time, Salaried position, located at our 4S Ranch/Rancho Bernardo Business Services office. 

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • 3 years of experience healthcare/medical office environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must possess excellent mathematical skills and ability to handle monies.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; innovative with ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Able to adapt, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Report writing ability preferred.
  • Knowledge of payer contracts, medical terminology, commercial and government health insurance and billing guidelines, ACA requirements, understanding of DRG's, Medical ICD9/ICD10 codes and CPT/HCPC Codes and Modifiers.
 
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
 
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in excel including use of complex/nested formulas and pivot tables.
  • Familiarity with Professional Billing (PB); with an understanding of the nuances and differences between Hospital Billing (HB) and PB.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in completing A/R and Denials analyses and trending
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively time manage and prioritize initiatives.
  • Experience in PB A/R and Denials practices and processes.
