As part of the Scripps Health pharmacy team, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians provide a broad range of clinical services at our sites and work collaboratively with physicians, nurses and other health care team members to deliver high-quality, efficient services to patients and staff. The Pharmacy Technician I will be joining the Hematology/Oncology department at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines.

The Pharmacy Technician I is responsible for performing basic pharmacy technician duties. Works under the supervision of registered pharmacists.The Pharmacy Technician I will primarily focus on assisting with refills and prescriptions, helping patients at all four hematology/oncology sites at Torrey Pines, Hillcrest, Encinitas and Rancho Bernardo. To be successful, the Pharmacy Technician will have extensive experience with authorizations, insurances and chemotherapy medications and will thrive working independently.

This is a full time position with day shifts, generally 8am-5pm.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of Pharmacy Technician Program
  • California Board of Pharmacy Certification


Preferred:

  • Certification by National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
  • 1 year inpatient experience preferred or hospital externship
