As part of the Scripps Health pharmacy team, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians provide a broad range of clinical services to deliver high-quality, efficient services to patients and staff. The Pharmacy Technician - Med Manufacturing will be joining the centralized pharmacy department in Sorrento Valley with the primary responsibility in sterile compounding large quantity batches.

The Pharmacy Technician - Med Manufacturing will perform complex, specialized duties. May periodically be responsible for performing basic pharmacy technician duties and more advanced pharmacy technician duties that may include inventory control and IV Clean Room responsibilities in accordance with FDA current good manufacturing practices. Works under the supervision of registered pharmacists, Director of Pharmacy, and the central pharmacy production center quality control unit.

This is a full time position with varied shifts, primarily 6am-2:30pm or 6:30am-3pm, with flexibility for other shifts. Primarily Monday through Friday, with flexibility for weekends.

Job Requirements

Required:
  • Graduate of Pharmacy Technician Career Program 
  • California Board of Pharmacy Certification
  • Certification by a National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
Preferred:
  • 3-5 years inpatient experience, home infusion, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Experience in a GMP clean room environment
