The Pharmacy Prior Authorization Specialist is responsible for supporting the Scripps medication prior authorization (PA) program within the scope of pharmacy technician licensure. Works under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.  May assist pharmacy PA management with administrative support duties as needed or fulfill the role of Pharmacy Tech II should patient-care need arise.

Job Requirements

Required Experience/Certifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of Pharmacy Technician Career Program
  • California Board of Pharmacy Certification.
  • Certification by a National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required.
Required Education/Course(s)/Training: 
  • 1 year of relevant medication prior authorization experience preferred.
