We invite you to join our Perinatal Education team, where the Perinatal Educator for Scripps Center for Community Health and Advocacy is a Certified Childbirth Educator and/or a Certified Lactation Educator. The Perinatal Educator is responsible for teaching standardized perinatal education programs throughout the Scripps Healthcare System. The Educator is an active team member who works closely with the Lead Perinatal Educator and Supervisor in the development of and implementation of perinatal education programs. The Educator performs other duties as assigned.
 
This is a casual (per diem) position that requires travel to the different Scripps Health sites as well as surrounding communities.  

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Accomplished adult and/or child teaching skills, excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to function with minimal supervision, bilingual an advantage, strong personal and professional commitment to adult and/or child education programming.
  • Previous experience with adult and/or child learning systems/theory.
  • Certified Childbirth Educator and/or Certified Lactation Educator with one year teaching experience in Perinatal Education.
 
Required Certification/Registration:
  • Childbirth Education and/or Lactation Educator certification.
 
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing, education or other field.
  • Experience in childbirth education is strong preferred.
