Join a winning team as a Patient Service Representative supporting our Family Practice Clinic located in Encinitas. This role is essential in interacting with patients and providers to gather necessary information for accurate registration and scheduling new patients to our Clinic. You will experience the pride, and support of being a member of an outstanding team at our Encinitas site where we share a culture of providing excellent care to our patients and each other. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast paced environment serving our patients with world class customer service while being responsible for the following:
  • Interacting with patients and providers to gather information for accurate registration, and appointment scheduling.
  • Provide excellent support to our multiple providers
  • Perform check-in duties, assisting a high volume of patients daily
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments according to guidelines, entering appropriate insurance, performing Key User duties with minimal errors.
  • Having a proactive approach to customer service by listening to the patient, taking ownership of solutions and is able to identify the need to involve leadership in order to resolve concerns.
This is a Full Time position and is located at our Encinitas clinic. Hours Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm (must be willing to work 7:00am – 7:00pm when needed). Will have a rotating schedule for weekend shifts 9:00am - 1:00pm.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of computer applications, excellent mathematical skills and ability to handle monies.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Previous patient check-in, check-out
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; innovative with ability to identify and solve problems.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • 1 year of experience customer service or healthcare/medical office environment preferred.
  • Previous experience working in Family Medicine
  • Previous Patient Registration and/or Scheduling experience.
  • Able to adapt, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, commercial and government health insurance and billing guidelines, ACA requirements, understanding of DRG's, Medical ICD9/ICD10 codes and CPT/HCPC Codes and Modifiers.
