Our Scripps System-wide Resource Services (SSRS) department supports the entire Scripps Health system. As a member of the float team, you can fill vital roles on assignments throughout the system to provide critical coverage for employee’s leave of absences, sick calls, and peak service demands while gaining experience in a variety of environments.

Join our Scripps SSRS team as a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) ­­­­­­ where you will provide direct patient care within the scope of your practice. This includes the following: Provides excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team. Assists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and ensures the patient has a safe, organized environment. Assists with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician. Supports the unit with a variety of patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation duties.

The types of opportunities we offer are as follows:


SYSTEM WIDE FLOAT TEAM - Permanent Scripps employees who support the day-to-day and short-term assignments.

Seeking full-time and part-time staff with options on night shift.

SYSTEM WIDE RESOURCE TEAM - Permanent Scripps employees who support long-term assignments, typically 12 weeks in duration.

Seeking full-time staff with varied shifts.


Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • One year of recent experience working under the license of a licensed healthcare provider OR current enrollment OR completion of Nursing Assistant training from a recognized school OR current enrollment in an RN program with completion of the second semester, including nursing fundamentals.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider.
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instruction in English.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • CNA certification.
  • Multiple patient care skills.
  • One year acute care experience.







Travel Requirements:
  • Work between the five (5) Scripps Health hospital campuses: Encinitas, La Jolla, Torrey Pines, San Diego, and Chula Vista.
