The Ophthalmic Technician performs patient assessments and technical skills to accurately assess the ophthalmic status of each patient, including emergency procedures and medication administration as appropriate. Educates patients and documents patient interactions. Practices infection control. Contributes to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care.
This position is a Part-Time (40 hours per pay period), 8 hour DAY shifts. Position located in Rancho Bernardo.

Job Requirements

Required Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Additional requirements vary according to specialty and duties performed in business unit. 
Required Certification/Registration:
  • Current BLS card for Healthcare Professional from American Heart Association (AMA).
Preferred Education/Course(s)/Certification/Registration:
  • One year experience in optometry and in ophthalmology
  • Ophthalmic Technician Certificate preferred.
  • Completion of a certified Ophthalmic Technical program preferred.
