The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) will serve as a liaision between our lab and non-lab personnel conducting point of care testing at our various clinic locations across San Diego. The primary responsibility for the MLT is to train LVNs, Medical Assistants, and other non-lab clinic staff on point of care testing. The MLT will also assist in monitoring maintenance of annual competencies amongst the clinic staff and conduct mini-audits. Traveling will be involved, as the MLT will collaborate with his/her counterparts to split coverage of multiple ambulatory care sites.

This is a part time position (40 hours per two-week pay period), Monday through Friday. General clinic hours are 8am-5pm. Must have flexibility to travel to all clinic sites (clinic locations range from Eastlake/Rancho San Diego to Encinitas/Vista).

Job Requirements

Required:
  • Understanding of medical terminology, specimen collection, processing and testing techniques.
  • Current California Medical Laboratory Technician license
Preferred:
  • Experience in a clinical laboratory preferred
  • Associate Science from an accredited university
