As one of the top health systems in the nation, it's important to us to make access to health care convenient and accessible. Scripps will be opening a series of HealthExpress clinics throughout San Diego County. Scripps HealthExpress offers same-day, walk-in care for the entire family.

As a leader at the HealthExpress Clinics, the Supervisor will manage daily staffing for assigned clinic operations. Ensures nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety. Ensures the safe transition of patients thru the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care. Under the general direction of the Manager/Director, shares leadership responsibilities for the Medical Assistant staff, including managing daily staffing plans. Responsible for managing and maintaining schedules for optimal efficiency. Works in partnership with Management and Physicians to ensure quality and efficiency in the management of patient care. Management and development of clinical staff. Contributes to operations management of assigned business unit(s). Participates in budget planning and management. Takes proactive initiative in quality management. The Supervisor will also take call as the HealthExpress Clinics are open 365 days a year.

This is a full time position with varied shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays. The Supervisor will be required to float between the Express Clinic sites.

Job Requirements

Required:
  • Certified MA plus two years applicable clinical experience
  • excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through
  • Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care
  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification


Preferred:
  • Certification in area of specialty preferred if applicable. Leadership experience.
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience with using Powerpoint and Excel for reporting
