As Manager, Research Services at Scripps, you will be responsible for the development, management and oversight of government or foundation research program, including facilitating translational investigator and physician scientists' collaboration. Tracks performance and maintains oversight and project management of the portfolio of studies within care lines or co-managed clinical domain. Responsibilities will include management of all required approvals, project/portfolio enrollment and protocol performance/evaluation, budget creation, review, negotiation and management, project/portfolio financial performance, and overseeing financial support functions. Facilitation and management of internal and third party relationships, including government, corporate and philanthropic and management of project expansion. Direction and oversight of research and administrative support staff in compliance with corporate, regulatory, and legal requirements.

This is a Full Time, Manager position located in La Jolla.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in healthcare administration, business, or a science related field plus 3 years of experience in a healthcare or scientific health research environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • High level proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Access, Adobe, and scientific software.
  • Excellent written and oral English skills coupled with expert grammatical and proof reading skills applied in a scientific and research development environment.
  • Able to lead projects and facilitate groups.
  • Experience partnering with physicians and/or researchers and achievement of measurable results. Experience with budgeting

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • Master's Degree in healthcare administration, business, or a science related field.
