Clinical Research Service (CRS) is responsible for providing comprehensive support of SCMG research at Scripps Health that meet the needs of our patients, physicians, partners and overall organization.
As Manager, Research Services, you will be responsible for leading a team of project managers who support the start-up of new project. Additionally, this position is responsible for development, management and oversight of the processes for start-up of commercial sponsored clinical trials and clinical research grants. You will track performance of the team and maintain oversight and project management of the portfolio of studies within the start-up and setup pipeline.
 
Responsibilities will include management of all required approvals, project/portfolio management of the startup and setup portfolio, new protocol performance/evaluation, budget development and coverage analysis, project/portfolio financial performance, and overseeing financial support functions for research finance. Facilitation and management of internal and third party relationships, including government, corporate and philanthropic and management of project expansion. Direction and oversight of research and administrative support staff in compliance with corporate, regulatory, and legal requirements.
 
This is a Full Time, Salaried Manager position located in La Jolla.


Job Requirements


Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in healthcare administration, business, or a science related field plus 3 years of experience in a healthcare or scientific health research environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • High level proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Access, Adobe, and scientific software.
  • Excellent written and oral English skills coupled with expert grammatical and proof reading skills applied in a scientific and research development environment.
  • Able to lead projects and facilitate groups.
  • Experience partnering with physicians and/or researchers and achievement of measurable results. Experience with budgeting


Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

 

  • Master's Degree in healthcare administration, business, or a science related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience within research administration, grants and contract management and or support of commercial clinical trial program with regards to finances and protocol setup.
  • Four (4) years of experience with budgeting for clinical research grants and commercially sponsored clinical trials.
  • Experience partnering with physicians and/or researchers and achievement of measurable results.
