Utilize your ChargeMaster and Revenue Integrity background in Hospital Operations and act as the leader responsible for the standardization and utlization of the CDM.  This role ensures maximum allowable reimbursement within billing regulations. You'll develop analytical tools to regularly review and confirm appropriate usage of the CDM by all facilities/ departments. Provide appropriate follow-up with departments. Reviews Medicare intermediary and other third-party payor bulletins to keep current on billing requirements, and communicates information to all applicable departments and leadership. Participate in initiating, developing and establishing facility specific and regional models for financial analyses as related to requested and mandated changes to the chargemaster.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Bachelors Degree, preferably in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance or Accounting.
  • Bachelors degree in nursing or in an ancillary therapeutic or diagnostic patient care field may be substituted.
  • Five years experience in acute care hospital environment, with three years experience in hospital chargemaster setup and maintenance, preferably in a multi-hospital setting.
  • Specific experience should include procedural coding for Medicare, Medi-Cal and California Workers Compensation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, Demonstrated effective verbal and written communications skills.
  • Three years supervisory experience in leadership positions.
  • Project management skills essential.
Required Certification/Registration:
  • HCPCS coding and revenue coding required.
 
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • ChargeMaster and Revenue Integrity experience in Hospital Operations
  • RN or other Clinical Certification
  • Experience managing system-wide projects.
  • Epic EMR highly preferred.
  • Previous healthcare financial management or healthcare operations background, and/or clinical experience highly desirable.
  • Training experience preferred.
  • Coding certification (AAPC or AHIMA) highly preferred.
