The Lead Security Officer supports Scripps Health through the performances of duties which provide a reasonably safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, employees, medical staff, and property. Acts as a visible deterrent to criminal activity while patrolling assigned areas and ensuring policies and procedures are carried out and reporting non-compliance. In addition, responds to emergency situations and when appropriate provides guidance for the safe management of the situation, communicating with leadership as necessary.

Must be able to assume control of security related emergencies. Monitors and arranges shift activities and post coverage according to schedule requirements and staff availability. Provides leadership, guidance, training, and orientation for new and current security officers. Provides operations management support to department leadership, including maintaining policies and procedures, timekeeping and quality control/reporting. Contributes to performance evaluations and hiring decisions. Demonstrates a work style that is supportive of the security leadership team and reflects the mission, vision, and values of Scripps Health.

This position is full-time (80 hours per pay period), varied shift and weekend availability required, located in La Jolla.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:
•1 year security, law enforcement, or military experience
•CA Security Guard Card
•AHA BLS for Healthcare Professional
•Valid CA Driver's License
