The CLS Lead will be joining the team at Scripps Mercy Chula Vista, but will have support from his/her counterparts systemwide.

The Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) Lead will serve as the liaison between our lab and non-lab personnel conducting point of care testing. The CLS Lead will provide excellent customer service to our healthcare providers and will serve as a resource for our nurses and physicians at Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista for trouble shooting and problem solving. To be successful, the CLS Lead will have excellent communication skills and experience with working with interdisciplinary teams. The CLS Lead will be responsible for point of care testing compliance, serving as the point of contact for inspections.

This is a part time position (20 hours a week) with day shifts, anytime between 7am-7pm. Generally Monday through Friday, but may need to work the occasional weekend or after hours depending on staffing needs.

Job Requirements

Required:
  • 5 years experience in lab services, two of which as a clinical lab scientists
  • Bachelors degree in life sciences
  • California license as a Medical Technologist, Possession of Specialist certification from ASCP, NCA or other accrediting agency is preferred.
