We invite you to join our team of highly engaged team of healthcare professionals.  The Lactation Specialist provides direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care, and evaluating patient’s progress toward expected outcomes. The Lactation Specialist takes primary responsibility for supporting the lactation needs of the patient. Within a culture of teamwork, the Lactation Specialist works collaboratively with the other members of the patients care team to ensure optimal patient care. Demonstrates ability to perform competencies as outlined in MBU Competency Assessment tools. Demonstrates age-specific care as established for area and job title.

This is a per diemtime position with day shifts.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
•         Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
•         Excellent interpersonal skills.
•         Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.
•         Completion of Lactation Consultant Course.
Required Certification/Registration:
•         Current BLS for Health Care Provider.
•         Completion of a Lactation Consultant Program.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
•         B.S. in related field preferred.
•         Prefer IBCLC certification
•         Experience in labor & delivery, mother/baby couplet care and/or NICU.
