Join a winning team supporting Scripps Health as an IS Project Manager. The IS Project Manager is responsible for the completion and implementation of large, complex, multi-disciplinary, enterprise wide Scripps IS projects. A strong candidate will provide a broad range of project management and analytical services to support the management of the various teams, both internal and external to the I.S. organization, responsible for completion and implementation of the projects. They will consult with our business partners as a Business Analyst at our locations to identify workflow, data, and application requirements needed to build IS solutions. The IS Project Manager will develop resources to generate documentation and facilitate solution designs, ensuring solutions meet customer needs, provide project artifacts, and manage schedules and budgets.

The IS Project Manager supports and complies with IS PMO policies, procedures, and methodology. Focuses on Project Planning and Management methodologies that lead to successful implementation of moderate and large, multi-million dollar projects and the labor required to accomplish implementation of such. Knowledge of emerging technologies, resource allocation, capital and operating budget development and tracking, as well as thorough documentation is required. Develops tactical plans as well as mentorship programs to develop effective project management practices and grow IS project management resource expertise. Expert knowledge of Project Management tools such as Microsoft Project is required.

This position will be at our newly designed, centrally San Diego located business services office, which offers an on-site café and gym. This is a full time, salaried position and offers Scripps Health’s award winning benefit package along with relocation assistance to those that qualify.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Experience in business practices and processes of information services or healthcare enterprise.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, including Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Visio.
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Skill at managing stakeholder groups and balancing diplomacy and tact with assertiveness.
  • Very good prioritization skills to balance key priorities and a strong customer centric approach.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and deal with multiple high priority issues simultaneously in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or other Project Management Certification/Educational equivalent preferred.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3 Years of Project Management Experience
  • Experience within a multi-facility health care system.
  • Experience in the management of moderate to complex projects and an in-depth knowledge of project management software, MS Project is preferred.
  • Project Management methodologies, Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile, and LEAN Six Sigma Certifications preferred.
