The IS Solutions Analyst (IS Business Analyst), is responsible for the intake of new requests and ideas to the Scripps Health Information Services. The IS Solutions Analyst will consult with our business partners at Scripps business and clinical locations to identify workflow, data, and application requirements, then identify a proposed technology solution. The IS Solutions Analyst will generate documentation and facilitate technical solution designs, ensuring the proposed solutions meet customer needs. As a member of the Application Portfolio Team, the IS Solutions Analyst will be a key team member to evaluate, analyze, and process our customers’ requests in a high demand, dynamic environment. The Application Portfolio Management team is skilled business professionals focused on business process optimization, application rationalization, and vendor management.
The IS Solutions Analyst is responsible for the day to day processing of technology requests focused on high value software and services contracts. The complexity of the job includes competing priorities, customer expectations, and complex analysis.  The interesting, yet most challenging part of the job, is to reengineer our IS processes to continuously improve our service levels and cost model.
This is a Full Time, Salaried position located at our Scripps Corporate Office in La Jolla.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Customer Service experience within a healthcare environment, preferably a working understanding of Healthcare IT.
  • Ability to easily interact with superiors, peers, and subordinates. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a busy environment, organizing and prioritizing a diverse workload to meet deadlines with accuracy.
  • Ability to follow direction, maintain confidentiality, makes decisions and successfully follows multiple tasks through to completion. 
  • Ability to tactfully investigate and collect relevant facts including researching applicable Scripps policies, regulations, or laws. 
  • Must understand where reporting and approval lines are drawn and how to diplomatically escalate when necessary. 
  • Excellent critical and analytical thinking.
  • Exhibit excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Outlook, Word, Project, Visio, and Excel skills. 
  • Strong Business Process Optimization and cost modeling experience
  • Must possess valid CA driver's license and be able to drive to and from various Scripps Health business units.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Project Management experience.  
  • Agile Scrum experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience.
  • Prior experience with Electronic Medical Records, Clinical Systems, ServiceNow application, and other standard business software applications (i.e. Enterprise Resource Planning, Healthcare Information Management).
