Job Description

Instruct safe, enjoyable exercise classes (water and/or land) to all levels following established fitness industry guidelines. Responsible for tailoring classes to individuals special needs, maintaining attendance records, stereo/aerobic/aquatic equipment, and supplies use for class. Maintain good working relationship with other fitness staff and supervisor. Assist in program promotions, marketing and education of members and staff. Follow exercise guidelines established by AEA, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, and/or AFAA.
 
PLEASE NOTE:  This position will also encompass Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Specialist positions.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: One (1) years relevant experience teaching group exercise classes (land and/or water) to all levels. Competitive swim experience and proficiency in advanced skills/stroke instruction, coaching/teaching. Bachelors degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or related field.

Required Certification/Registration: Current BLS and AED. Water classes, one or more of the following: A.R.C. WSI, A.R.C. E.W.S., A.E.A., USA Swimming, or Arthritis Foundation Certification. Land Classes, one or more of the following: ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NSCA.
