Job Description

Performs job functions to support the following Food Service operational systems: safe food handling, meal assembly and portion control, customer service, and infection control/sanitation. Follows established policies and procedures to ensure compliance with TJC, Title XXII and other applicable regulatory requirements. Demonstrates age-specific care as established for area and job title.
The types of opportunities we offer are as follows:

SYSTEM WIDE FLOAT TEAM - Permanent Scripps employees who support the day-to-day and short-term assignments.
Seeking casual, part-time, and full-time staff on day shift.
SYSTEM WIDE RESOURCE TEAM - Permanent Scripps employees who support long-term assignments, typically 12 weeks in duration.
Seeking full-time staff with varied shifts.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:  One (1) year recent Food Service industry experience.  Must be able to speak, read, and write English

Required Certification/Registration: SD County Food Handler Card; or Food Safety Certificate, or able to pass Food Handlers test given by certified manager or designee.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: Experience in institutional food service in healthcare.

Travel Requirements:  Work between Scripps Health cafes and the five (5) hospital campuses: Encinitas, La Jolla, Torrey Pines, San Diego, and Chula Vista.
