The Food and Nutrition Services Lead provides leadership and coordination in the following areas:  Food Service Department operational systems: safe food handling, volume food production, menu development and modification, meal assembly and portion control, inventory management, food service equipment operations, customer service, human resources management, financial performance, infection control/sanitation, and overall department function. The Lead participates in the planning, coordination, preparation, and volume production of meals for patients, cafeteria, catering/special events and complies with JCAHO, Title XXII, and other regulations.
This position is Full Time (80 hours pay period), Varied schedule, and located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • One (1) year experience in food and nutrition services
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • Excellent customer service skills
Required Certification/Registration:
  • Food Safety Manager Certification
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • Associate Degree in related field or Certified Dietary Manager
  • Excellent problem solving, team development, and strategic planning skills
  • Active California Driver’s License
