The EVS Tech performs job functions to support environmental care: Patient Care area cleaning, Non-Patient Care area cleaning, Linen Service, Waste Removal, Sharps container removal, Meeting/Event set-up/breakdown, and Infection Control/Sanitation utilizing technical, interpersonal and critical thinking skills under the guidance and support of a supervisor. Follows established policies and practices to ensure compliance with the Joint Commission, Title XXII and other applicable regulatory requirements. Displays and practices a work style that reflects the mission, philosophy, and goals of the organization.
 
This position is Full Time (64 Hours per pay period) and located at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.

Job Requirements

Required Experience/Education/Specialized Skills:
  • One (1) year of EVS Housekeeping experience in healthcare or hospitality required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Strong commitment to providing an outstanding patient experience. 
 
Preferred Experience/Specialized Skills/Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or GED is highly desired, but not required.
  • Qualified candidates have extensive customer service experience and a desire to provide the highest quality of service.
