Job Description

The Epic Database Administrator ensures database servers are installed, configured, secure and performing optimally. Monitors server performance and completes root cause analysis of failed jobs, escalating issues as appropriate. Maintains server documentation. Performs backups and restores. Performs capacity planning, performance tuning, and server configuration analysis. Designs and implements process automations and optimizes server performance. Monitors server performance and completes root cause analysis of poor performing servers and implements the fix.
 
Manages and maintains the enterprise system management systems, including architecture, configuration, administration, operations, capacity planning and support of the enterprise systems management environment, with little or no supervision.  Considered an enterprise system management expert primarily in the area of Epic Cache.
Responsible for assigned systems integration, design and level three technical support for enterprise systems and technology platforms, as well as mentoring staff. Responsible for integrating complex additions and changes into the existing enterprise systems management infrastructure, ensuring the results are efficient and effective and that no unplanned disruptions or data losses occur. 
 
Leads or participates in cross-functional team that manages a full spectrum of technology issues and problems. Needs to be available for on-call duty when necessary. Ability to work well in a cross-matrixed reporting environment.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:Excellent critical and analytical thinking and excellent customer service skills. Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in database maintenance, security and database performance tuning, including index fine tuning.

Required Certification/Registration: Epic DBA Certification

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: At least three years of experience, MCTIP, Bachelors degree
