Through collaboration and innovation, our IS professionals lead the frontier in caring for our community. The EPIC Bridges Integration Engineer will provide overall technical coordination for application interface development, testing, and implementation with EHR, HIE other vendors and provider practices. Design, develop, test, implement and support interfaces between applications. Use HL7 or other standard coding protocol languages. Ensure all new development is consistent with existing code and utilizes established communication protocols.
 
Work to accurately estimate work effort required in interface development. Communicates the interface architecture and design specifications to respective vendors and ensure that clear direction is given and understood. Proactively manage interfaces and engine, alerting management of potential issues in advance whenever possible. Monitor interface and engine usage and make recommendations for upgrades or system enhancements when needed. Provides advanced level support for multiple hardware platforms and interfacing applications on various platforms.
 
Plan and perform system audits to ensure accuracy of interfaces and associated processes. Design audit plan to maintain data and interface integrity. Coordinates multiple levels of testing along with the development of appropriate testing documentation with vendors, provider practices and other ancillary services. Collaborates with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing interfaces.  
 

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four year college or university in information technology or a related field.
  • Must have at least seven years of IT architecture development, 3 of which using Epic systems.
  • Hands-on experience using HL-7 and other healthcare interface standards. Experience with file transfer protocols (FTP, SFTP, FTPS, PGP etc.)
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office and MS Project or a comparable project management software tool.
  • Exhibit professional written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate understanding of technical documentation.
  • Maintains high level understanding of the downstream applications to which the core systems integrate.
 
 
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • Masters in Science in Information Technology.
  • Experience in Healthcare related environment using Epic Bridges, Corepoint and Globalscape applications.
  • Epic Certified.
