The EEG Tech performs Neurodiagnostic procedures utilizing standard protocols supported by the American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ASET). Reports directly to a Patient Care Manager and works under the supervision of the Neurology Physicians; procedures performed include EEG and Evoked Potential Studies.
 
The EEG tech is responsible for patient preparation, transporting equipment to the bedside for in-house patients, maintaining computers/printers and other equipment, entering patient charges, ordering supplies, basic clerical work, and appropriate storage of patient records and information. Assists other health care members to assure optimal patient care. Maintains own clinical competency and mandatory requirements. Demonstrates ability to perform competencies.  Demonstrates age-specific care as established for area and job title.
 
This position is PART TIME (40 hours per 2-week pay period), DAYS, VARIED shifts, and located at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • EEG experience or graduate of EEG program
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Data entry and computer skills
  • High School graduate or equivalent required
 
Required Education/Course(s)/Training:
  • Current BLS by American Heart Association for Health Care Workers required
 
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • EEG program completion
  • A.B.R.E.T., A.S.E.T. membership preferred
  • One year of experience in outpatient and acute care is preferred
