As an Emergency Department (ED) Tech you will support the emergency department or urgent care by performing basic emergency medical procedures as directed under supervision, assist nurses and physicians in the performance of their functions. You will perform assessment of vital signs, thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, application of simple dressings and splints, stool and urine collection. The ED Tech will also prepare patients for examinations/treatments including draping patients, opening sterile supplies, and set-up and removal of IV's. The ED Tech, will assist in collection of patient history and ensures confidentiality of records, as well as, clean and prepare rooms between procedures including changing of bed linens and restocking of room supplies. You may transport patients and/or provide coverage for the unit secretary.
 
This is a Casual (Per Diem) position, with Varied 12-hour work shifts located at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Certified EMT (EMT, AEMT or Paramedic) or CNA
  • BLS Healthcare Provider Certifications through American Heart Association
  • Ability to speak, read and following instructions in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrate positive behaviors

 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience in emergency services
