Established in 1924 by Ellen Browning Scripps, Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla has been one of Southern California’s premier medical centers for more than 90 years. With 444 licensed beds, we offer a wide range of clinical, surgical and specialty services, including a Level II Trauma Center and 24-hour emergency services.
 
Join our Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla team of Emergency Services. As an ED Tech, you will support emergency department or urgent care by performing basic emergency medical procedures as directed under supervision, assists nurses and physicians in the performance of their functions. You will perform assessment of vital signs, thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, application of simple dressings and splints, stool and urine collection. You will also prepare patients for examinations/treatments including draping patients, opening sterile supplies, set up and removal of IV's. The ED Tech, will assist in collection of patient history and ensures confidentiality of records, as well as, clean and prepare rooms between procedures including changing of bed linens and restocking of room supplies. You may transport patients and/or provide coverage for the unit secretary.
 
This position is Full-Time (72 hours per pay period), 12 hour NIGHT shifts, 7:00pm-7:30am. Located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Certified EMT (EMT, AEMT or Paramedic) or CNA
  • BLS Healthcare Provider Certifications through American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience in emergency services
