As Director, Human Resources Services supporting Scripps Medical Foundation, you will be responsible for developing, directing, and/or coordinating HR systems and programs, including but not limited, to the following areas for 35 primary care, specialty care, urgent care and express health clinic sites across San Diego County: 
  • HR Operations
  • Employee Relations,
  • Recruitment/Retention,
  • Regulatory Compliance,
  • Compensation, and
  • Leadership Training and Development.
A strong candidate will have experience in a highly complex healthcare organization collaborating with staff, HR teams and Senior Leadership in the identification, design, implementation and evaluation of innovative programs that are aligned with Scripps' mission, vision, goals and initiatives.
 
You will provide leadership and consultative services in all areas of Human Resources.  As a strategic business partner, you will design, implement and coordinate programs to enhance and maintain quality of work life, employee engagement and manager effectiveness; Play an integral role in consulting and collaborating with management and corporate human resources staff in the areas of workforce planning, organizational development, compensation and benefits design and administration, workers' compensation, and related programs and practices.  You also may consult on and conduct all levels of employee relations investigations, help to form conclusions and drive workforce program recommendations and serve as advisor and counsel to Senior Leaders.
 
This is a Full Time - Director level position located in La Jolla, CA, but covers multiple sites across San Diego County.

 

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Bachelors in related field; or AA degree plus 8 years previous experience in Human Resources with an emphasis in Employee Relations.
  • Knowledge of human resources program design, development, implementation, and evaluation required.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships and influence all levels of management and employees.
  • Knowledge of current regulatory requirements and standards relating to the function of human resource management.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state employment law, excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills, team development, consultation, planning and follow-through.
  • Ability to facilitate and coordinate service delivery in a complex environment.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • Master's degree,
  • Health care experience, and
  • SPHR preferred.
