As Director, Business Development you will be tasked with taking projects from identification through to completion.  You will lead the implementation and integration process through the acquisition and divestiture projects including financial analysis and transaction structuring. Additionally, you will provide analysis and recommendations on corporate financial implications of range of strategic and/or operational alternatives. Be charged with developing and generating strategic ideas through independent analysis and familiarity with acquisition industry.
Play an integral role in developing business cases, define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path. Act as a strategic partner to determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and makes appropriate recruits if necessary during acquisition process.
This is a Full Time - Director level position located in La Jolla.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in mergers/acquisitions, corporate development, business development, investment banking and/or similar, two of which in leadership.
  • Experience leading and facilitating work teams, with superior facilitation, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret quantitative and qualitative analysis including but not limited to financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of present and potential health care services and operations including business models.
  • Demonstrated experience with a variety of merger and acquisition activities and related skills such as valuation, transaction structuring, deal management and negotiation.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with ability to focus on details, synthesize broad amount of information into actionable information for senior executives.
  • Able to quickly spot issues and develop a recommended approach.
  • Exceptional quantitative skills. Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to concisely present orally and in presentations.
  • Self-starter with ability to streamline executive decision-making.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to develop junior team.
  • Ability to efficiently multiple processes.
  • Team player with ability to build broad relationships internally and externally.
  • Excellent finance and/or accounting skills with knowledge of key current and emerging issues impacting strategic transactions.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • Master’s in Business, Health Care Administration or related field, JD or CPA.
