Job Description

Accountabile for the definition, planning and execution of major capital projects (in excess of $100M per project, in excess of $150M annual spend), including project scope, develop project budget, define project schedule, negotiate with the site executive leadership for resources, provide direction and coordination between multiple sites, reports progress. Develops, oversees and maintains project management functions associated with the preparation, implementation and execution of projects across the system, including requests for qualifications, requests for proposals, selection of architects, consultants, and general contractors. Maintains fiscal accountability for significant capital improvements of both strategic and operational import, delivering projects on time and on budget. Develops systems and processes necessary for the tracking, planning and execution of projects, analyzes trends, develops and maintains a program for organizational learning and sharing of experiences, internally and externally. Create training programs, continuing education and career path opportunities for Project Management staff. Identifies changes in work scope and ensures appropriate planning measures are taken with internal and external clients to reassess, renegotiate and amend scope of work responsibilities, proposals, contracts and bugets.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering plus five years continuous experience working in the healthcare construction field with large project management. In lieu of Bachelor's degree, 10 years increasingly responsible construction project experience, 5 of which managing multiple complex California hospital projects ($10-$50 million project budget). Recent progressive leadership and management experience in an acute care facility required. Excellent negotiation skills, experience managing projects for customers and developing effective customer relationships required. Significant use of Project Management tools including Scheduling Software, Project Mangement Software and Time Tracking systems. Ability to manage and assign staff within the authority and responsibilities for the assigned projects based upon the scope of the project and complexity of the patient care to be developed.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: Master's degree in Architecture or Engineering or health administration and experience within a multi-facility healthcare system. Project Management Professional certification preferred. An in-depth knowledge of project management software, including Primavera Scheduling and MS Project. Experience assembling and motivating teams that work together to meet requirements, creative problem solving skills, win-win mentality, able to work in a technical environment having strong Best Practices for task execution in place,and relevent experience in delivering technology based solutions desired.
