The Scripps clinical research department is located in sunny San Diego, CA and minutes from our beautiful beaches and central to the vibrant La Jolla community.  You will experience the pride and support of being a member of an outstanding clinical research team where we share a culture of providing excellent care to our patients and each other. 
 
The Department Assistant will provide administrative support to ensure smooth operations. Performs clerical, administrative and general office duties involving typing, record and file maintenance, document creation, mail distribution and telephone reception. Has some knowledge of the unit's operations, organization and procedures. Maintains office files and records in accordance with internal procedures. Receives and refers visitors and telephone callers. Responds to routine requests for information and refers more complex requests to appropriate staff members. Opens and distributes mail. Responds with form letters to routine requests. Drafts and types routine letters and memoranda from specific instructions. Assembles relevant data and complies information as directed. Produces a variety of correspondence and reports. Maintains appointment calendars.
 
Please note this position has a Monday through Friday work schedule and the hours are listed as 8AM to 430PM. 
 

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:
Major in Biology, Molecular Cell Biology, Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience

Research Experience
 
Good communications skills and the ability to work with others. Adaptable, and able to handle large volumes of work.
