The Cytotechnologist is assigned the duties of microscopic examination of gynecologic and non-gynecologic cell samples for the presence of abnormalities. The Cytotechnologist will demonstrate behaviors that support organizational goals of cost-effective, high quality patient care services through leadership, professional and technical competence utilizing the appropriate resources.

This is a casual (per diem) position with varied shifts.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • 3 TO 4 years’ experience as a working cytotechnologist with both gynecologic and non-gynecologic samples. CYTO.
  • Bachelor’s degree in life science from an accredited college preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Successful completion of a 12 month CAHEA accredited cytotechnology program.
Required Certification/Registration:
  • California license as a Cytotechnologist.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • Possession of Specialist certification from ASCP, NCA or other accredited agency
