The ideal candidate will have CNA experience in an acute care or rehab setting. Primary patient population for this position is orthopedics and general surgery. Scripps Green is a 173-bed hospital that has served the La Jolla and greater San Diego communities with distinction since 1977. Scripps Green offers a wide range of clinical and surgical services, including organ transplantation, oncology care, cardiothoracic and orthopedic surgery, interventional cardiology and blood and bone marrow transplantation.
Join a fast-paced Surgical Acute department where you will have an opportunity to collaborate with other Care Team members to assure optimal patient care. Assists with the care of respective patients within the scope permitted under the guidance of the Registered Nurse. Assists staff to ensure optimal patient care. Provides and maintains a clean, safe and attractive environment for patients. Transports patients and supplies as needed. Assists patients with comfort measures. Responsible for completion of mandatory programs. Demonstrates ability to perform competencies as outlined in assigned unit's Competency Assessment tools. Demonstrates appropriate age-specific patient care as established for area and job title. 
This position is Full-Time (72 hours per pay period), 12 hour DAY shifts, 6:30am - 7:00pm, VARIED work days that includes weekends and holidays. 

Job Requirements

Experience/Specialized Skills: One year of recent experience in a patient support role OR Nursing Assistant training from a recognized school OR current enrollment in an RN program with completion of the second semester, including nursing fundamentals. Must be able to speak, read and follow instruction in English. Excellent interpersonal skills with a service aptitude.

Required Certification/Registration: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care provider

Required Education/Course(s)/Training: CNA certification. Multiple patient care skills preferred. Preferred one year acute care experience
