As part of the Scripps Health pharmacy team, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians provide a broad range of clinical services at our sites and work collaboratively with physicians, nurses and other health care team members to deliver high-quality, efficient services to patients and staff. The Clinical Pharmacist II will serve as the pharmacy representative among the health care team, primarily working on the floor and will float to the main pharmacy a couple shifts per two-week pay period. The Clinical Pharmacist II will join a team that thrives in a fast-paced environment, prides itself in their solid teamwork and promotes continuous learning. The Clinical Pharmacist II will have the opportunity to precept students and residents, join committees, participate in clinical presentations and engage teaching staff.

This is a full time position with varied shifts, including every other weekend.

Job Requirements

Required:
  • BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D. Degree
  • 1-2 years' experience Hospital pharmacy practice and Clinical pharmacy practice (inpatient or ambulatory)
  • For Ambulatory Care Retail Pharmacy - 1-2 years retail experience 
  • PGY1 residency or equivalent hospital patient care/Retail experience 
  • California Pharmacist License
  • AHA BLS for the health care provider and ACLS certifications required prior to being trained to respond to codes
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) or other nationally recognized certification required to obtain within 2 years of hire

Preferred:
  • Hospital pharmacy practice and Clinical pharmacy practice (inpatient or ambulatory) experience
  • For Ambulatory Care Retail Pharmacy - retail experience
