The Clinical Lab Scientist Lead will provide technical oversight of the Sorrento Mesa Laboratory Hematology/Coagulation and Urinanalysis department, including, but not limited to, review of quality control, new method verification, method development and CAP inspection readiness. As a leader and face of the department, the Clinical Lab Scientist Lead will serve as a role model in providing excellent customer service.

The Clinical Lab Scientist Lead assists the Manager in the technical and personnel management of a designated laboratory section. The technical coordinator is required to demonstrate behaviors that proactively contribute to reaching team goals of cost-effective, high quality patient care services through leadership, technical expertise, and the appropriate utilization of resources.

This is a full time position with varied shifts, including weekends.

Job Requirements

  • 6 years experience as a working technologist in the specific laboratory discipline or equivalent experience with a graduate degree in biologic or management science
  • Bachelors degree in life sciences
  • California license as a Medical Technologist

  • Possession of Specialist certification from ASCP, NCA or other accrediting agency
  • Leadership experience
