The Biomed Engineering Tech II performs safety testing, preventive, and corrective maintenance on all medical and related equipment. Selects and requisitions needed parts and coordinates repairs and preventive maintenance with outside firms. Generates reports and documents his/her work into the Scripps Biomedical Computer Maintenance Program. He/she will understand and apply the following fundamental skills and knowledge necessary to effectively, efficiently, and safely perform his/her work: Human anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, healthcare codes and standards, reading schematic diagrams, pneumatics, optics and hydraulics. Works under general or no supervision, and trains staff and other technicians.
This position is Full Time and located at Scripps Corporate offices.

Job Requirements

Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Minimum of two years biomedical engineering experience, hospital based preferred
Required Education/Course(s)/Training:
  • Associate degree or equivalent in electronics, or biomedical technology, or equivalent military experience  
Preferred Certification/Registration:
  • AAMI Certification preferred but not required
