Join a winning team supporting the Communications Department where you will be making a difference in our patient experience as an Answering Service Attendant. This position in within our Communications department, located at our Scripps Green Hospital and will be soon relocating to our Rancho Bernardo Center. You will experience the pride, and support of being a member of an outstanding team, where we share a culture of providing excellent care to our patients and each other.

The Answering Service Attendant, answers calls and routine inquiries, routing to intended destination. Appropriately responds to and documents emergency situations, per policy and guidelines. Acts as a part of a team, including training new employees. Pages physicians, security or employees as appropriate via radio, pagers, computer, or over-head PA system. Completes additional tasks such as sorting and mailing messages during downtime, delivering messages to physician offices and completing and distributing daily sheets. After physician office hours, answers and documents patient calls, contacting appropriate on-call physician as necessary. Maintains physician on call schedules at each work station, in on-call change book and on current monthly schedules.

This is a Part Time position (40 hours per pay period), located at our Scripps Green Hospital and eventually move to our Rancho Bernardo Center. Flexible availability is required for shift and be willing to cover Night and Day shifts including some weekends.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Strong customer service skills, computer skills, and ability to work in fast pace environment using repetitive hand motion with the ability to multi-task.

Preferred Education/Experience/Certification:
  • Health care experience
  • Call Center/PBX experience.
