We invite you to join our team of highly engaged Anesthesia Technicians in our Surgery Department at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego. Supporting excellence in patient-centered care, the Anesthesia Tech provides critical support to the highly skilled medical and nursing team in the Surgery department. Under supervision and direction of the RN, the Anesthesia Tech operates, sets-up, and maintains monitoring equipment in the operating rooms. Assists the anesthesiologist with implementation of monitoring lines and devices. Maintains anesthesia supplies and equipment. Maintains and operates video and laser equipment under the direction of the RN.  Demonstrates ability to perform competencies as outlined in surgery Competency Assessment tools. Demonstrates age-specific care as established for area and job title.
 
This position is Casual (Per Diem) 12 hour shifts that Vary and located at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • One (1) year experience in the OR or a Paramedic
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and follow instructions in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
 
Required Certification/Registration:
  • Current BLS card for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association (AHA)
 
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Knowledge of anesthesia equipment, lasers, and video equipment preferred
