As Info Security Analyst Senior, you will support the goals and objectives of the Scripps Information Security Program. In this role you will support security incident response, threat hunting, risk identification, and risk analysis. Play an integral role in investigating, researching, logging, tracking, and following up on security incidents, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.


Additionally, you will assist in continuously enhancing the related information security program policies, standards, procedures, guidelines; and coordinating education and awareness activities required to increase the organization’s awareness of information security roles and responsibilities, good business practices, and security safeguards.

This is a full-time, Exempt position (80 hour per pay period) and located in La Jolla.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, telecommunications, computer engineering, computer science, or related discipline preferred OR will accept relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Minimum five years of progressive experience in information security or an information technology related field (e.g., networking).

  • Ability to evaluate, assess risk, and apply safeguards to information systems.

  • Technical knowledge of information security concepts, information technology internal controls and safeguards, technologies, vulnerabilities, and applicable rules and regulations.

  • Understanding of key information systems and processes in an integrated healthcare delivery environment.

  • Knowledge of internal and information security control frameworks, specifically NIST 800-53 and CIS CSC Top 20.

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • High level of personal accountability for accuracy, attention to detail, task prioritization, and timely completion.

  • Ability to work independently under conditions of constant change, important deadlines, and rapid response to security incidents.


Required Certification/Registration:

  • CISSP or GIAC designations must be held in good standing or attained within 24 months of date of hire.


Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • OSCP, MSCE, Cisco.
