As a WIC Nutrition Care Tech, you will work in a community based setting under the guidance and support of the WIC Dietitian, determine WIC program eligibility. Provide nutrition education and care services (as directed by the local agency annual Nutrition Services Plan) to perinatal women, and to the parents/legal guardians/caregivers of newborn to preschool-age children in accordance with the policies and practices outlined in the WIC Program Manual.
Participate in productive interpersonal communications; adapt easily to policy changes; draw upon available resources for necessary information use good judgment when atypical circumstances arise; present a professional image exercise patience and tact in all situations; maintain accurate records and prepare simple reports; working in a fast-paced environment, compare names and numbers rapidly and accurately; perform basic mathematical functions.
This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday 8a-5p, with Saturday availability required minimum once a month.  Must be willing to occasionally travel to different clinic locations.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications: 
•     Four year Baccalaureate Degree in Food and Nutrition Services, Nutrition Sciences or Dietetics from an accredited college or university OR Two year Associate Degree with Dietetic Technician (DTR) credentialing by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
•     Minimum one year of experience in a community based organization providing nutrition education to a large group or individual setting
•     Strong customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications:
•     Bilingual English/Spanish 
•     Comfortable working in shared spaces and providing support with the assistance of translation services
•    Must be comfortable being out in the community providing nutrition based counseling
•     Flexibility to learn various software/technology
•     Mastered Degreed Nutritionist in a clinical nutrition related field
•     Those who have a BS in Dietetics, obtained the Verification Statement of Completion of academic requirements (Dietetic Program in Dietetics  or DPD) approved by the American Dietetic Association (ADA), Certified Lactation Educator Certification, Certified Lactation Counselors- certification maintained such status with appropriate continuing education
