As Video Production Specialist Senior, you will be responsible for video production and photography to communicate organizational priorities and build the Scripps brand. This includes producing high-impact, high-visibility videos for a variety of internal and external audiences, from concept development with clients to production and final dissemination. Video development and photography to focus on strategic priorities, such as patient acquisition, market outreach and system growth, physician alignment, patient satisfaction/education, donor cultivation/stewardship, employee engagement and retention, and enhanced national visibility for the organization.

This is a Full Time, Salaried position located in La Jolla.
Position required the ability and willingness to work hours outside of a typical 40 hour week as nights, weekends and holiday commitments may apply.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • A Bachelor's degree in mass communications, film and video production or related field is required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in broadcast, corporate or commercial production is required.
  • Incumbent must be able to translate complex ideas of health care professionals and leaders into finished, presentable, video programs for patients, consumers, employees, physicians and the general public.
  • The incumbent must be a self-starter with excellent project management and organization skills to effectively manage multiple programs simultaneously at various stages of production.
  • Must be familiar with all television production equipment, and proficient in the use of video cameras, broadcast video recorders, editing equipment, audio mixing consoles, program switchers, LAN controllers, and graphic generators, linear and non-linear equipment. Specifically, must have shooting experience with Sony HD XDCAM or comparable broadcast formats and must be able to edit proficiently and rapidly on a Final Cut Pro Non-Linear editing system. Incumbent must have knowledge of/experience with Adobe Photoshop, Apple Compressor and Soundtrack Pro.
  • Must have experience in converting video for various web and product applications in multiple formats. (ie, .flv, ,mov, .wmv, mpeg-4, etc).
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills. Must understand and be proficient in the complete process of program development from concept through distribution and billing. Strong verbal communication and writing skills are required.
  • Must have understanding and appreciation of video technology and its application in a health care setting, including online and web platforms.
  • Must have ability to work in high-paced environment with multiple deadlines and matrixed reporting structure.
  • Must be able to drive and transport video equipment for on-location filming on a daily basis.
  • Must have ability and willingness to work hours that are outside of the typical 40-hour week as nights, weekends and holiday commitments may apply.
Required Certification/Registration:
  • Valid California Drivers license is required.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • Prior vendor and production budget management and health care experience preferred.
