Our Speech Therapy department at Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista is eager to welcome a Speech Language Pathologist to their tight-knit department. This team serves in both the in-patient and out-patient setting seeing a variety of neurological and dysphagia cases. They take a collaborative approach to patient care and partner closely with other rehab disciplines. The ideal candidate is passionate about learning and excited to make a difference in the ethnically diverse community of southern San Diego.

The Speech Pathologist provides evaluation, assessment, prognosis, treatment and education to patients and clients through a continuum of care according to the therapist's respective licensure/registration/certification, Code of Ethics, Federal/State regulations, JCAHO/UMQC and Care Center policies and procedures. Performs competencies as outlined in unit specific competency assessment tools. Demonstrates age specific care as established for area and job title.

This position is full-time (64 hours per pay period) and located at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego. Weekend availability is required for this role.

Job Requirements

Requirements:
  • Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist in California
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider certification from American Heart Association.

Preferred Experience:
  • At least 1 year of Acute Care experience
  • Proficient at conducting Modified Barium Swallow Studies
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
