As Senior Director, Reimbursement you will be responsible for accurate completion and submission of annual Medicare cost reports for Scripps Health. You will work with federal auditors to reconcile difference in cost reports. Lead efforts for, and communicate to finance board, the process of billing and collecting on provider fees.

The ideal candidate will have considerable reimbursement experience in Medicare, Medi Cal and CHAMPUS programs. Utilize your prior hospital reimbursement experience and oversee Scripps Health in audits of the cost reports including analysis of proposed audit adjustments and preparation of arguments for cost report audit re-openings and appeals.

Additionally, you will play an integral role in budgeting, accounting and analysis of settlements including representing Scripps during the audit. Oversee special programs including the Medical Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) payment program as well as the GME programs at Scripps.

This is a Full Time - Salaried position located in La Jolla.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five (5) years progressive and comprehensive reimbursement management experience with fiscal intermediaries.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

  • Master's degree.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Hospital fee or Provider tax / Provider fee program experience.
  • Reimbursement with Medicare and Medical DSH experience highly preferred.
