Join our team working at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Orthopedic Department. Working together, you’ll bring your expertise, compassion and excellence to all we do. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast paced environment and enjoy providing world class customer service.

Within this role as an RN, you will have significant telephone interaction (95%) coordinating care with patients and collaborating with our on-call providers and their care teams. You will educate patients, manage associated paper work; order entry, prior authorizations and medication refills. You will use minimal (if any) hands-on nursing skills. You will work with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

This position is full time DAY shift position located at Scripps Clinic in Torrey Pines.

Job Requirements

• Prior RN experience
• Current California Registered Nurse License
• Current BLS from American Heart Association
• Requires well developed phone communication skills, ability to assess, reassure, empathize, and give direction over the phone.
• Requires critical thinking skills around post-operative complications, understanding and identifying patients with abnormal outcomes and managing the care continuum to achieve positive outcomes.
• Must be able to muti-task.and remain calm and professional during hectic times.


• Prior experience in an ambulatory/clinic setting
• Bachelor's degree in nursing
