Join our winning team as an RN in the Pre-Op Surgery Department at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego where you will provide patient care assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care, and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes.
The Pre-Op RN supports the prepping of procedure area patients and reviews the MD's medication in accordance with SCIP, ERAS, STRIDE, and SSI measures. The Pre-Op RN preps an average of 35 patients Monday - Friday to support the turn over and timely OR procedures start times. Epic charting requires each care event be completed and Pre-Op care event to be documented by the Pre-Op RN team to meet this requirement. This position works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care. The Pre-Op staff are cross trained to the PACU department.  Some call required.
This is a full time (72 hours per pay period), varied 12-hour shift position with benefits located at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego.

Job Requirements

  • One (1) year of recent RN experience in an acute care setting in ED, ICU, Pre-Op, and/or PACU
  • Current California Registered Nurse License
  • Current BLS and ACLS for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association
  • Must be able to speak, read, and follow instructions in English
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors 
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Two (2) years PACU and/or pre-surgical evaluation experience
  • Experience using Epic software
