Job Description

Works collaboratively with system wide resource team to ensure provision of supplemental staffing services in accordance with philosophy and expectations of System Wide Resource Services. Provides direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice, in accordance with hospital policies and in accordance with standards of nursing practice. Functions under the oversight of the respective service/department as assigned. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care, and evaluating patient’s progress towards expected outcomes. The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision and works collaboratively to ensure optimal patient care. They must demonstrate a willingness to be flexible, be team focused and have the ability to work independently in challenging and fluid clinical environments.
The types of opportunities we offer are as follows:

SYSTEM WIDE FLOAT TEAM - Permanent Scripps employees who support the day-to-day and short-term assignments.
Seeking casual, part-time, and full-time staff with options for day or night shifts.
SYSTEM WIDE RESOURCE TEAM - Permanent Scripps employees who support long-term assignments, typically 12 weeks in duration.
Seeking full-time staff with varied shifts.

Job Requirements

Experience/Specialized Skills: Two (2) years of recent RN experience in an ICU department within a hospital setting. Will consider someone with 18 months of experience with two or more years of experience in a second specialty area.   Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English. Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.

Required Certification/Registration:Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS prior to start.

Required Education/Course(s)/Training: Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
Travel Requirements:  Work between the five (5) Scripps Health hospital campuses (Encinitas, La Jolla, Torrey Pines, San Diego, and Chula Vista).
