Join our Inpatient Physical Therapy Department as a Physical Therapist Assistant at Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista. You will bring your excellent communication skills to creatively solve problems every day. The ideal candidate is confident in the acute care environment and will partner with our team of four Physical Therapists to provide quality care.

The Physical Therapist Assistant assists in the provision of therapy under the supervision of the Physical Therapist who shall be responsible for the extent, kind, and quality of the services provided by the therapist assistant through a continuum of care. The work is performed according to the assistant's licensure/certification, Code of Ethics, Federal/State regulations, JCAHO/UMQC and Care Center policies and procedures. The Physical Therapist Assistant demonstrates the ability to perform competencies as outlined in the Rehabilitation Services Competency Assessment tools, and demonstrates age specific care as established for area and job title.

This role is a Casual (Per Diem) position working varied days to include at least four shifts per month, two of which must be weekend shifts, and occasional holidays. This position is located at Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
  • Physical Therapist Assistant license for State of California
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Recent PTA work experience in an Inpatient/Acute Care setting
