As part of the Scripps Health pharmacy team, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians provide a broad range of clinical services at our sites and work collaboratively with physicians, nurses and other health care team members to deliver high-quality, efficient services to patients and staff. The Pharmacy Systems Analyst will serve as a leader in the department as the administrator for all applications used by the team. To be successful, this person must be proactive and flexible to assist in various roles, from running huddles and taking meeting minutes to other Pharmacy Technician duties. The Pharmacy Systems Analyst partners with leadership to use data to identify opportunities for improvement. The Analyst will also serve as a liaison between the pharmacy and Information Systems (IS/IT) team to communicate information regarding applications. The Analyst will work closely with the pharmacy technicians to manage inventory in the hospital. Maintains department specific databases and ensures accuracy of data. Applies broad knowledge in providing data analytics services to clients. Gathers operational data to examine past business performance. Identifies data patterns & trends, and provides insights to enhance business decision making capability in business planning, process improvement, solution assessment etc. Recommends actions for future developments & strategic business opportunities, as well as enhancements to operational policies. May be involved in exploratory data analysis, confirmatory data analysis and/or qualitative analysis. Translates business requirements into business solutions. Designs and tests system configuration. Conducts quality reviews of system builds.

This is a full time position with varied shifts, generally Monday through Friday day shifts, with occasional weekends depending on projects.

Job Requirements


  • Good critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of database functionality with ability to translate customer requests into actionable reports
  • Current CA Pharmacy Tech Registration
  • PTCB certification

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Pharmacy related fields or equivalent experience
